[ Google Review ] Disappointed top to bottom. We planned a trip to Savannah because we know of SCAD and the rich art scene in the city. We were very much looking forward to visiting the museum and were heartbroken to find out that it was basically closed. (Not to mention GPS had a heck of a time finding the entrance and it’s not well marked.) We went in and were asked if we were for the museum tour. We excitedly replied yes, only to be told that ALL of their exhibits were under renovation. There is one exhibit of a set of photos in the lobby, an 8 minute documentary, and one outside “exhibit.” Were told nothing inside will be open for at least another week. The website says nothing about all the exhibits being closed. Very disappointed. Shameful that in a place known for art, they wouldn’t rotate when they update exhibits so their is always something on view for visitors.

[ Google Review ] Very disappointed. Was excited to visit historic sight but guide rambled too much, focused on “interacting” with guests on the tour instead of telling the history. Also, just had a weird disposition that made many of us uncomfortable. Loved stain glass featuring black preachers from the congregation’s history, and it was fascinating to see the holes in the basement pine floor that runaway slaves breathed through. But wish there was more historical content.

[ Google Review ] A delightful small but lovingly curated museum. I appreciated the care they went to to add life to the Pulaski explosion exhibit with name cards and historical artifacts from the time for context. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. My son was in heaven with the WW2 boat display, and I loved learning about the history of Savannah’s role in shipbuilding through the ages. The location was lovely too and had its own unique character. The gardens were really nice, as well, and there was a cute little gift shop. Perhaps not a “must see” for everyone, but definitely for anyone interested in Savannah through the ages and for military history folks. Highly recommend!
