[ Google Review ] Dumbest airport layout ever. Completely thoughtless for passenger service. Don’t go out to your gates until you are 120% sure your flight is leaving and leaving on time. Once you leave the main terminal with all the services, you can’t return without leaving the airport and coming all the way back in. Plus, VAT refund is a complete scam. They tell you to put your items in your checked bag, which is a lie! You must put EVERYTHING in your carry-on because the Customs check is AFTER you check-in but they won’t stamp your receipt without seeing the merchandise. See the trick? Scam. And another gold star in the dumbest airport design award. The airport has been renovated and is visually appealing. While there was an attendant keeping the bathrooms very nicely clean, the seating areas were nothing short of gross. Dirty everywhere and we were the first flight/people of the day - so how long has it been there? Italy is a great country to visit - we love it, but quickly diminished by a terrible airport design.
[ Google Review ] Probably the coolest airport I've been to. The most private bathrooms, wheelchair friendly. So much space, and many areas to lounge in to be far away from large crowds. Not to mention the sick X-Men mural. Everyone was so nice. Can't wait to go back to Iceland just to experience this again.

[ Google Review ] Following the closure of the hotel where we had booked, we were without a solution at 10:30 pm in the streets of Grindavik. We were able to get in touch with the owner of Reykjanes Guesthouse who came personally to provide us with one of his accommodations. We thought we had an excellent night in a quiet and very well equipped house. Thank you again for your help.
